1. Q: Is everyone who files personal bankruptcy required
to take a debtor education personal financial management course?
A:
Yes, as result of The Bankruptcy Abuse and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 all personal bankruptcy
filers are required to take a Personal Financial Management Course.
Our course meets the standards established for such courses by the US Trustee's office.
2. Q: When should someone take this course?
A:
A bankruptcy filer should complete this course within 45 days after the first date set
for the meeting of creditors under 341 of the Code in a chapter 7 case, and no later than
the last payment made by a debtor as required by the plan or filing of the motion for
entry or discharge under 1328(b) in a chapter 13 case.
If you have any doubt as to your last day to take this course, please contact your attorney
or the Trustee assigned to your case.
3. Q: Can you fail this Course?
A:
No. Everyone who completes the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.
4. Q: How much is the Course?
A:
Internet Pricing: $17.50 for single debtors and $35 for joint debtors. Joint debtors will receive two separate
logins and can complete the course EITHER individually or together.
Telephone Pricing: $25 for single or joint debtors. Joint debtors must be on the same telephone conference.
5. Q: When can I take my course?
A:
At any time. Our name is 247 Bankruptcy Class, Inc. and that ensures that you can
take the course at any time.
Certificates are generally issued within 24 hours of completion.
Although you may take and complete the course at any time, your certificate may not be
issued until the next business day.
6. Q: How do I Pay?
